Indiana to host global semiconductor event in 2025

The IEDC is an engaged member of SEMI, the global industry association for semiconductor and microelectronics design and manufacturing supply chains. We are also a founding member of SEMI Midwest, the regional chapter to serve members in the Heartland, and Indiana will host the first ever SEMIEXPO In The Heartland in 2025. The SEMIEXPO will spotlight Indiana's microelectronics leadership, innovations across smart manufacturing and applications to mobility. The IEDC will also be a part of the U.S. Pavilion at SEMICON Taiwan, hosted in Taipei Sept. 4-6, 2024.

Purdue University STARS program training the next generation of semiconductor experts

NBC News features the Purdue University's Summer Training, Awareness, and Readiness for Semiconductors (STARS) program. The program is in its second year and is designed to teach students how to design, manufacture and package semiconductor chips. These students of today will be the next leaders in the semiconductor ecosystem being built right here in Indiana. 

Ivy Tech and Purdue University's partnerships preparing the future microelectronics workforce

Purdue University and Ivy Tech have partnered together to help meet the future workforce needs in microelectronics, creating the curriculum to educate students that businesses of today need for tomorrow. The program focuses on recruitment, training and placement of students, reaching out to high schools, and informing prospective students of careers in semiconductors and engineering in general. Together, they developed semiconductor specific curricula that stacks to higher level degrees and higher-level positions in semiconductor companies. 

New data center solidifies Indiana's place as leader for next gen AI and future economy

Google is establishing a new $2 billion data center in Fort Wayne, powering the company's AI innovations and growing Google Cloud business for customers across the world. This is another piece of the growing technology ecosystem here in Indiana due to our business-friendly environment, abundance of infrastructure resources and availability of skilled labor. Indiana's tech hub wins will surge the state's economy. The three federal tech hub designations include primary focuses on microelectronics, hydrogen energy, and biotechnology.
