AWS Plans to Invest $11 Billion in Indiana, the Largest Capital Investment in the State's History

“Today, Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced plans to invest an estimated $11 billion in Indiana, creating at least 1,000 new jobs and marking the largest capital investment in the state’s history. With the support of Governor Eric Holcomb and the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC), AWS will build new data centers in St. Joseph County. AWS will also contribute up to $7 million to support road infrastructure improvements being built by the state and local community surrounding the company’s planned development.

 

This planned investment is part of Amazon’s long-term commitment to Indiana. Since 2010, we've invested $21.5 billion in the Hoosier State and have added $19.8 billion to Indiana’s gross domestic product, helping support customers, employees, and communities. Amazon’s investments have created 26,000 full- and part-time jobs in the state. Amazon's commitment to Indiana also includes enabling four solar farms and a wind farm, with a combined capacity of more than 600 megawatts of renewable energy, enough to power approximately 146,000 homes.”

Nvidia Partner Bets $3.9 Billion on the Midwest’s Chip-Making Potential

“South Korea’s SK Hynix said it plans to invest $3.9 billion in an advanced chip-packaging facility in West Lafayette, Ind., the latest win for Midwestern states seeking a bigger piece of America’s burgeoning semiconductor industry. The planned plant is set to mass-produce high-bandwidth memory, or HBM, a critical component to artificial-intelligence computing, SK Hynix said Wednesday. The facility, which will also host research and development activities, is expected to start mass production in the second half of 2028 and bring more than 1,000 new jobs to the region, the firm said.”

 

Funding for Indiana's Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Continues to Grow, Supporting Entrepreneurs and Collaborative Ecosystem

“The Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) announced today it is allocating additional funds to its Community Collaboration Fund (CCF), making up to $1 million available to support community-led projects focused on entrepreneurial education, connection and acceleration across Indiana. CCF, which awarded an initial $500,000 in its pilot phase last year, is designed to further accelerate entrepreneurial activity and resources statewide, with a particular focus on underrepresented founders and underserved markets."
